The arrivals for the twenty-four hours ended at 9 am yesterday numbered five, Fiz., ole British,

two one Italian, Japanese and one Chinese The depar tures over the same period came to six, including one for Kwang Chow, Wan; with one clearance.

Of the cargo entered for Hongkong, the heaviest entry was by a Japanese vesel with 4,584 tons of coal and the next best by the British steamer with 2,200 tons of oil.

The same British vessel also carried 5,000 tona of oil for perts beyond while the Italian and, a Japanese vessel carried 6,000 and 8,000; tona of general cargo for porta beyond.

The arrivals for the twenty-four hours ended at 5 am. yesterday were as under? The s.. Trincuin (British) from Balik- papan with 2,200 tons of oil and 8,000 (Italian) from Trieste and Singapore tous for ports beyond; the s.a. Venezia L. with 193 tons of firewood and 200 tons of-general cargo and 6,000 tons for porta beyond; the ss Alution Haru (Japanese) from Bremen, and Singapore with 332 tons of general cargo and 8.69 tons for Torts beyond the s. Tone Mary (Japanese) from Miike with 4,554 tons of coal and the s.8, Zai Nge Ma (Chinese) from Kwang Chow Wan with 250 tons of general cargo.

Inter arrivals, too late for entry in the above returns, included the a.s." Albert Volger (German) from Sarawak with 301 tons of general cargo and 6,366 tena for ports beyond: the s.5. City of Lulure British) from Tsingtan and Shanghai with all entry for Hongkong, but 7,500 tons for parts beyond; the Häkouki Juru (Japanese) from Singapore with gragral cargo and mail; the 5.3. Fulconus rem Tamsui and the Kendal Castle (British) from Manila with general cargo.

SHIPPING NOTES.

At th Marine Court yesterday, be fore Ligat Conidr. G. E. Hole, R.N., fourtwan boatmasters and boatmistresscá were charged with lying inshore. "Thir teen were fined 82 each, with the alter native of two days' bard labour, and the, remaining defendant was discharged, his excuse being that he was waiting for a passenger. Three other boatmasters were fined $2 each for a similar offence.
