THE LEAGUE.

INTERESTING POSITION IN DIVISION II.

There were four matches played in the Hongkong Oricket League on Saturday, two in the First Division and two in the Second Division.

In the First Division, the H.K.C.C. mave above the Royal Artillery by reason of their victory over this side; while the Chinese Recreation Club, who incident- ally registered their first win in the League this season, go above the East Surreys by one point. The other positions remain unchanged.

In the Second Division, there have been several changes in position. The Royal Engineers have displaced the K.C.C. 2nd XI in the leadership of the Junior Sec- tion and the Police have moved up to third place in the Division from sixth position, by reason of their win against the C.S.C.C. A." displacing the H.E.C.C. 2nd XL, who are now fourth. The Navy Sad and the L.R.C. end teams have both completed their fixtures and have finished. up fifth and sixth in the Junior Section.

An interesting position has arisen in the Second Division with regard to the fight for the championship of this Section. The Royal Engineers, K.C.C. 2nd XI. and Police have each one more match to play; while the H,K.CC. ad XI. has two mote games. The Royal Engineers appear to stand the best chance of winning the Junior Championship, but it is by no means certain. To win the Second Divi- sion honours this season the soldiers, have to heat the C.SC.C. "A." but if they draw or lose this match, the other three teams have a chance: The K.C.C., 2nd I have played six matches, won three, drawn two and lost one and have elever. points They can only win the Second Division Championship if the Royal En- gineers lose, and at the best can only equal them in points should they draw. To do this they have to defeat the. H.K.C.C. 2nd XI. next Saturday after noon. Should they lose the H.K.Ü.C. 2nd XI have a chance of winning the Cham Bionship in the event of the R.E' losing or drawing, provided the H.K.C.C. win. their other match against 'Varsity 2nd KL, on March 6th, or of becoming run- nero-up by drawing with the K.CC. and Finning against the Varsity. The Police analysis in the table reads the same 15 the K.C.C. 2nd XI. and their remaining fixture is with the Varsity, which will give them 14 points if they win and 12 Mr. E. J. R. Mitchell, of the Hong-if they draw. The Police can only win kong Cricket Club team, was presented the Junior Championship by defeating with a cricket bat in recognition of his the 'Varsity, should the Royal Engineers score of 111 runs on the occasion of the lose. the K.0.0. draw or lose to the all day match at Kowloon during Chinese H.K.C.C. and the H.K.C.C. draw or loose! New Year between the K.C.C. and the against the 'Varsity. 64 HK.C.C. Messrs. F. Goodwin and A Ramsey, of the Kowloon Cricket Club, were the recipients of bats for scoring 93 runs and si runs, respectively, in the same match.
