The Chief Justice (Sir Henry Gollan) sat in Bankruptcy Jurisdiction yesterday Pang Li Tip, of No. 5, Pottinger Street, whose public examination began on Satur day, failed to appear when his name was called At Saturday's hearing he had failed to account for over three and a half lagas of dollars, and an adjournment was allowed to enable him to produca proof of the money having been spent,
The Official Receiver said that he had sont letters on, two occasions to debtaris address, and on each occasion the messen ger was told he
was not there. He believed that he had absconded.
Mr. H. L. Strellett, who was debtors representative, said that he sent for the debtor on Wednesday evening, and hy sent a message stating that he would be in Court that morning..

70 petition, but had withdrawn it, as the Official Receiver. was satisfied that the bank was solvent. . Ha believed that Mr. Strellett would be satisfied if he were given the costs of the petition, and he (Mr. Russ) would agree to that'
Mr. Strellett said that he was satisfied that the bank if it were given an opportu nity to collect its accounts, would be able to satisfy its creditors. He would with- draw the petition, on being granted full
costs.
His Lordship thereupon dismissed the petition and granted costs to the pet tioner.
Re THE KAM WING BAN With regard to the insolvency of the Kam Wing Bank, the Official teceiver said that he was making an application for the appointment of a liquidator „and a committee, of inspection.
There was no representative of the Bank in Court..
The Official Receiver said that meet- ings of creditors and contributories were held in his offices on February 1st, and reports were received from both meet-: ings. The creditors' meeting was attend- ed by creditors representing monies to the amount of 829,3500, and the contribu tories, $300,000. He understood; that' there ware other contributories who were not in the Colony. At both meetings A resolution was unanimously passed that" Mr. J. E Seth, of Mears. Ferty Smith, Beth & Fleming,* should be appointed quidator of the bank, in the place of himself (the Official Beceiver).' Ho-sug- gested that a guarantee of $50,000 should' be given. The assets of the bank were $700,000,- and the liabilities just over a million dollars.
Concluding the Official Receiver said that be also applied for the appointment of a committee of inspection. He named five Chinese gentlemen who could form the committee, and said that they were. either creditors, contributories, or held a power of attorneys He also asked that the appointment of liquidator should be advertised in two Chinese papera, Raj His Lordship granted the applications
