The master of the 8.8. Alipore (British) from Moji reported to the Harbour Office yesterday that a water-logged wreck of-a junk was passed in Latitude 22° 34 N. and Longitude 115° 55′ E. on Monday:

A report at the Harbour Office from the master of the s.s. Fan Cloon (Dutchy from Swatow and Amoy states that the wreck of a junk floating at 116" 7' E.; 22 40' N. was passed on the way to Hongkong and is dangerous to naviga- tion.

Another notice, jagued by the Maritimë Customs at Shanghai, under date of January 28th with regard, to the Tung- chow Channel, states that on January 29th, owing to changes in the channel. the buoys marking the Eastern ep trance were moved to new positions. Mariners are warned that this channe? is very narrow and appears to be closing up. At the present time no other channel is available and, until another opens up the present channel should be navigater

with extreme caution.
