Sir Matthew Nathan, late Governor of Queensland and formerly Governor of Hongkong, has been very ill here, but it now convalescent. He came up to visit the Gorges, but unfortunately has not. been able to carry out that part of his itinerary. He will soon be able to return. to Shanghai.

At the Auctioneering and Brokering Company's auction rooms yesterday after noon, a leasehold property situated ut No. 2, Tai Wo Street, was sold by order of the mortgagee. The property has an area of 1,715, square feet and the manual Crown: rent is $12.81. The apset price was $13,000, and this was advanced by two bids of $500 and two bids of $100 to #14,200, at which figure Mr. Chan Cheung became the purchaser.
