Your Lordship that I have granted 4 Months leave of absence, from the 12th Instant, to Mr. P. R. Caldwell, Assistant Superintendent of Police, to proceed

to Singapore for the recovery of health, which your Lordship will perceive from the enclosed Certificate from the Colonial Surgeon.

The enclosed Correspondence will show the arrangements made

for the performance of Mr. Caldwell's

duties during his absence, which I

trust, will meet with your Lordship's
