For the twenty-four hours ended at ten 14.222 on Saturday, there were arrivals, of which five were British, one French, one American, one Norwegian and two Japanese. For the same period there were ten departures...

Cargo entered for longkang totalled. 4,208 tons, and that for ports beyond

as tons.

The Fatshan did not leave on Saturday for Canton, but sailed yester day merging. following the necessary re pairs having been carried out at Taikoo Dock.

THEPONG TONG" "SAFE.

FEARS SET AT REST.

1 wireless message from Manila on Saturday morning set at rest the fears felt for the safety of the British as Pong Tong, which cleared for Keelung, Formosa,

on the previous Saturday The message received conveyed the in- that the vessel had safely formation arrived at the Philippines port.

According to the wire. stress of weather prevented her reaching Keelung. It is surmised that the vessel ran into a severo gala after rounding the southern point of Formosa. The master apparent. ly battled with the storm for some time, eventually deciding to torn and rao be fore it.-

"The Pong Tong wait for Keelung with the object of rebunkering before sailing. for long trip to the Pacific Isles. Amongst those on board was Capt. G. D. Arthur, one of the principals of the firm of Messrs. Carmichael and Clarke, marine surveyors of Hongkong."

The vessel is a small one of 1,001 tons register and she is to coal at Manila and proceed with her interrupted voyage to the South Pacific.

Deve's Nest Upper Buoy has been moved, and its colour changed from red to bluck. From the new position of the baby Confucius Beacon bears N. 54 W., distant 1.19 miles. This buoy marks the southern side of the channel. -Action Buoy has been moved, and its colour changed from red to black. Irum the new position of the buoy Green Point Beacon bears S. 9° W.
