The total cargo entered for Hongkong No. AZ-N.Y.K.

for the period mentioned was 5,842 tons Tangoon Maru, Japanese str., 3.87 tons,

Cap. K. Sato, from Yokohama and compared with 10,313 tous for the pre- Manila lying at buoy No. Arious twenty-four hours; while that for ports beyond totulled 14,070 tons, against NY.K. Teskin, French str...e tons, Capt. F. 5,317 cous for the previous day. The Morvau, from Haiphong, with a combined cargo entered came to 19,941 The three general cargo. lying at buoy No, C3 tons, against 18,560 tons.

Another arrival yesterday was the s. President Pierce from Manila with general cargo and mail; while the Hydrangea entered from Foochow and Amoy with 500 tons of general cargo. This vessel is now owisting the Swatow exil, and has done, so since the Reds regained control of that pert. Very few vessels are now-calling there en rute to Hongkong and none are clearing from Ilongkong to Swatow.

The Canka Shosen Kaisha is going to schedule the Santos Maru (7,500 tons), newly completed, on its South American route or between Yokohama and Buenos oil Aires. With this new vessel, an burner, the company intends to shorten the time between Yokohama and Rio de Janeiro from present 87 days to 45 days. and between Yokohama to Buenos Aires from 73 to 50 days. "The Suatos Marn is. 4 report says, capable of accomodating 51 first and 750 third class passengers and is provided with refrigerators etc. The new vessel is expected to be followed by the La Plata Morn (7,300 tons) pre suzably in the early part of next year.
