The Hongkong Football Club played the Rugby team of HM.S.. Hermes on the Hongkong Football ground yesterday evening and won by 32 points to 8. The Club was easily superior, this passing being remarkably fae. The Hermes had a good forward line, but a weak defence. They scored almost at the end of the game. The last try was converted by remarkably fine kick, easily the best of. the match...

INTERPORT GOLF..

LOCAL TEAM TO VISIT MANILA.

The Hongkong Interport golf team, which is to visit Manila, will comprise the following:-Messrs. N. L. Smith (captain), L. R.. Andrewes, D. G. Bruce, W. Douglas, C Bulmer Johnson, and J. M. Walker.

The party will said on the 88. Pre- sident McKinley on October 18th, and the match may be played on October 21st and 2nd, or on the 22nd and 23rd. The Hongkong players will return from Manila on the Empress of Canada on October 24th.

HARBOUR SWIM.

The annual cross-harbour races will take place this year on October 21st, 22nd, and 23rd. There will be three events, one" open to the Colony, one for Chinese, and one for ladies
