Yesterday official information was received that two British ships had discharged cargo and passengers at Swatów and one bad left with passengers. Police protection was given the ships in case there should be any interference, with them.. but no interference of any kind was at tempted. No office assistants or servants, however have yet returned to

work.

Our correspondent's letter, although necessarily a little behind the cable news, is extremely interesting; giving as it does, a broad review of the situation, from the Swatow resident's point of view. He writes;
