I have the honor to acknowledge
the receipt of your communication No. 254 under date. 12th inst., the contents of which
were immediately
made known to His
Excellency Monsieur Rouen, and I now
beg to
hand you a copy of a letter received from
him.

I have also to acknowledge the
receipt of your
communication of this day's
date, No. 258, with copies of the depositions
made before the Magistrates of this place
in regard to the late massacre on the French ship Albert, and
for which
I beg
to tender
you my thanks.
