I herewith enclose a copy of a communication received from His Excellency the French Minister, and in accordance with his instructions have to request that the Government of this Colony, agreeably to the existing treaty between Great Britain and France, will hold subject to the order of His Excellency, the Chinese passengers on board the French ship Albert, and now in confinement in this place.
I should feel obliged if I could be put in possession of the documents relating to this case.
