Lordship will perceive that in August last the "Albert" took on board at Cum-sing-moow Port about 20 miles to the Northward of Hadas, 180 Chinese Emigrants; that on the 14th of the same month the Vessel sailed for Callao, and that on the 7th September, in Latitude 32° 15' North and Longitude 138° 26' East from Greenwich, the Emigrants rose, attacked and murdered the Captain, the Chief Mate, the Cook, and 1 apprentice or Pilotin, Subjects of the French Republic, and a Young Peruvian, John de Dios Elias, the son of the charterers of the Vessel.

3. After the Commission of this outrage, the Emigrants compelled the remainder of the Crew to deviate from their course, and put the Ship about with the intention of having themselves conveyed to China.

4. On the 27th September, the "Albert" arrived in this Harbour with 49 of the Emigrants, the remainder having left the Vessel the preceding day to the Northward of the Island, in Chinese Boats that accidentally came alongside her entering the harbour. A signal of distress being observed, she was immediately boarded by the Police who brought the 49 Prisoners on shore.
