The second national convention of the Kuomintang Political Party, which was to have been held in Canton on August 15th, has been postponed to November
13th.

Reassuring statements to the Chinese were made by Mr..T. H. King, Director of Criminal Intelligence, when de interviewed at Police Headquarters on Wednesday afternoon by a reporter "ro- presenting the vernacular Press.
The reporter pointed out that rumours bad been circulated giving the impression that strikers returning to Hongkong were harshly dealt with by the Police, sucti rumours causing workers to refrain from coming back for fear of getting into trouble. An assurance was sought and given Mr. King said that during the last fortnight several hundreds had ra turned to the Colony, this number includ ing skilled labour.
