A notable example of the bat triumphing over the ball was given by J, Mushet, of George Herict's F.P. Playing against Glasgow High School F.P.. Mushet made so free with the attack that, when his side's innings was declared closed at one run short of 200, he was left not out with 101 to his credit. Among many other gond batting displays that of Elhot; Clackmannan County's new professional is noteworthy, thoing in first against Chylendale, he collected 58 runs by force- ful yet polished methods, and at the close of play was, like Mushet, not out. in the Forfarshire mune, the Australian, the Rev. H. F. T. Heath, was a distinguished performer with the ball, his eight wickets for it runs being one of his best, per- formances since, settling in Scotland, A notable result was the defent, of Grange by St. Katherine's.
