The Church Eody of, St. John's) Cathedral circniated to seatholders and! ubscribers in January last, a statement regarding the Organ, which explained some detail the measures necessary to put the instrument in a thoroughly satisfactory condition. The Church Body do not intend th future to make any further appeals in connection with the Organ-to the cor- gregation of the Cathedral and the pub- lic, as it is believed that any work required can be paid for cut of the general fund. Their desire is that yo this occasion all those interested in the music of the Cathedral may have an opportunity of making contributions, so that the cost may be distributed, as. widely as possible.

In this connection it is interesting to note that Shanghai Cathedral is re- placing its organ at an approximate cost of $120,000. If the work on our own organ had been done from Home the cost would have been shout 280,000. The analiness of the present cost and the admirable work that is being done should call for the liberal support, of all ransic lovers in the Colony.
