SHIPPING BOARD'S AUTION.
WASHINGTON. April 14th. A King's Bench Divisional Court of three judges, says Livyd's List, has given a ruling upon,a question which sometimes arises when a ship signals for a pilot and a pilot comes on board in response to their signat. From the judgment it ap pears that if the pilot hourds without being told that his services will not be required until the beginning, two or three miles ahead, of lesser distance-stage, the ship cannot limit the payment to the smaller rate for the shorter stage.
