Memorandum on the tenure of Land.

The

arrangement of the Committee being that the views of each member shall be given separately upon this question, I venture to submit an expression of my opinion that the present system

could not now be advantageously altered or amended;

an opinion formed after considering to the best of my ability

all the circumstances

which have been advanced on.

While admitting,

in several cases in which

the existence of excessive

rent is paid, it

must be borne in mind that there-

are many

marketable value of the land; and
