Victoria, 14 January, 1850

To the Committee appointed to make investigation into the tenure of Land in this Colony,

Gentlemen,

I am requested by the Missionarios London Missionary Society resident in Hongkong to inform you that they have instructed me to apply to the Directors of their society for directions as to the propriety of their making application to the Government of this Colony for remission of the ground rent paid for the sites on which Union Chapel stands in Hollywood Road, and the Chapel of the Society in the Lower Bazaar.

As some months must elapse before an answer is received from England, I have to beg that the delay in making such an application may not be considered as prejudicial
