The profit for the year, after writing off depreciation and transferring to em- ployees' bonus fund the sum of $3,000. amounts to $794,047.13which, with the balance brought forward from last year viz.. 8275,000, makes 13 total $1,000,017.13 available for distribution. Your directors propose to pay a dividend of 83 per share making, with the interim dividend paid on September 8th, 1021, $10 per share for the year, absorbing $303,190. It is also proposed to pay bonus of $3 per share absorbing a fur- ther sum of $276,560 loaving the sum of 1909,361.13 to be carried to a new account.

At the Central Magistracy yesterday, before Mr. J. R.Wood, a, number of pro- secutions against various arms for alleged infringements of the "Prophylactic trade mark, as applied to tooth brushes, were. commenced.
Mr. Hugh Jones prosecuted in each case, and the rat one mentioned was against the Tai Yau Company. Mr. M. K. Lo appeared for the defence, and as he wish- ed to inspect the actual tickets, which had been seize under warrant by the police.. His Worship adjourned the case until next Wednesday,
A second ease of a similar nature was brought against the Tin-Suça Company, Des Voeux Road. The hearing of this case was also adjourned until next Wednesday, as defendants were not legally represented, and fis Worship advised them to consult Counsel. --The-third case—was cancerning the Cheng Kwong Company, and in this in- stance Mr. Hugh Jones appled for the withdrawal of the action, stating that defendants bad surrendered the alleged infringing tickets and had entered into an undertaking not to handle any more.
Bis Worship allowed the application and the prosecution was accordingly with- drawn.

A suggestion has been made to the Rubber Growers' Association in connec tion with their campaign to further the consumption of rubber that is both novel. and appropriate.
