EDINBURGH, February 18th. Scotland made à good start in the inter- national contests for the season by de- festing Wales at Edinburgh, by 3 goals to 1. Wales last season were victorious over all three rival, nations, thereby gaining the so-called International Cham pionship. The weather was of the worst possible description. Owing to the wretched weather, some of the principal Rugby matches were put off, but the outstanding engagement- that between Heriot's (F.P.) and the Glasgow Academicals-was. fullfilled, and the result, a narrow victory for the Academicals puts Heriot's out of the running for the Championship, and leaves the Glasgow club in a particularly strong position to carry off the honours of the season.
