into the Census of Land under the Crown Leases in the Colony of Hongkong.
The Humble Memorial of William Gallimore McKnight
and Charles May, Administrators of the Estate of the late Thomas McKnight,
deceased.
That the late Thomas McKnight, Naval Storekeeper in and for the said Colony of Hongkong,
sometime in the year one thousand eight hundred and forty-two became possessed by purchase of a Lot of Land registered as Inland Lot No. 444, and, acting on
an assurance then given him by Mr. Gordon the Land Officer, at that period, that he should have free and uninterrupted right of way from the said Lot to the Queen's Road, proceeded to erect a residence for himself thereon, and at a very heavy expense.
