A NEW TERRITORY PROJECT.

An advertisement appears on another page with reference to the promotion of: a company called "The New Territories: Building and Agricultural Development Co., Limited, with a capital of a quarter of a million dollars divided into 25,000 shares of $10 each, of which 29.000 ate offered for public subscription.
The object of the Company is to nesuire certain lots" in the New Territories specified in the prospectus, having a total area of about 220,000 aquare feet now owned by Mr. E. V. M. R. de Sous Chang' Mr. F. F. de V. Soares, and Mr. Leung Yaz Po, and to develop this land for building houses and laying out gardens. It is proposed to purchase additional Hand for agricultunil purposes, and in this respect the endeavour of the Company will be to provide the Colony "with industries which as present are entirely lacking or at best very poorly developed, It is proposed to attempt the breeding of cattle and sheep, poultry farming. sericulture and the raising of vegetables and fruit, and also to undertake various cognate enterprises, such as the preserv- ing and pickling of fruit and vegetablos and the curing of meat.

Scares, who is one of the principal promoters of the enterprise, has devoted Lonny years of his life to testing the possibilities of land in Kow loon and the New Territories for such purposes, and his experiments have been remarkably successful Additional proof of the suitability of the land for such purposes has been furnished by the ex- perience of the Government's experi mental farm near Fanling. The Company has already acquired the services of competent farmer and three assistants by whom the agricultural and stock breeding work above mentioned will be undertaken, and is quite confident that with the subscription of sufficient capita to give the enterprise a good start it cannot fail rapid and remunerative development.
