A still greater motion picture accomplishment has now been achieved by Chester Bennett's magnificent

photodramatic melody of the soul

"THE LULLABY "

IN WHICH

JANE NOVAK

playing a masterful dual role of both mother and daughter rises to the greatest height of her -

brilliant career

4

Here is a photalrams that will ring down the ages of time, a photodrams that resthes up to the heavens above and into every human soul.

Nothing finer has ever been shown on the screens of the work, no' picture that so deeply plumbs the depths of all human emotions.

11

Ferhaps once in an entire lifetime does an artista riso supreme, fax: and away above any previous role she may have over attempted to portray.. Such is the supreme accomplishment of beautiful, soulful JANE NOVAK in THE LULLABY,”

Here is at once a production that is inspired, that bits straight to the heart, that tells in unforgettable scenes the magnificent story of * mother's love for her child. As a brilliant gem of purest ray serene shines forth in its splendour, so does this great photodramatic melody of the soul radiate its rare beauties of human emotions of love, of life, of happiness.

It is big. It is fine. It is beautiful,

CHRISTMAS!

It's Christmas time in England, over there across the-water.

Where winds are bleak and res are glowing red; And here our little island-home, her far-off, lonely daughter.

Must keep the feast with foreign skies o'erhend Then, jost because it's Christmas in the land we all adore., Here's to an English Christmas, on an Oriental shore!

Here's to that mottled pudding, with the blazing crown and berries.

Here's to the prickly, candlelight tree;

And Santa Claus,, with Arctie- sleigh-and roay cheeks, like cherries.

Who fills those trusting, childish socks with glee! Here's to the dance and merriment that keep the old-time lore. And hail an English Christmas on an Oriental share i

And truest joy claims kinship with a tear-

The best that life can give, to them, the friends beloyed f yore. While Christmas thoughts wing homeward, from na Oriental shore!

Here's to the honest kindliness that counts all men as brothers

When pain and sorrow chase life's jest away,

The glow of ready sympathy, forgetting self for others.

And may it, like our emblem rose, hold sway!. Here's to the friends of England, and to friendship's open deer! The while we welcome Christmas on an Oriental shore !

Comes wafted to us here, and lingers still,~

THE EXPORT OF RICE. According to the Chung Sheung Wai Po, the Kuomintang Rolshevists in Can- ton will employ gunboats from the Red Navy to assist exporters of rice from Canton, unless the Chinese Maritime Customs show favour to Dr. Sun Yat Sen's followers and permit rice to pass the Customs. It appears that, according to Chinese law, no rice can be allowed to leave Canton waters, and the Canton Commissioner of Customs, still under the Inspector-General of Customs at Peking, bas no discretion in the matter.
