Last night's performance of Gilbert and Sullivan's Opera, "The Yeomen of the Guard given at the Theatre Royal by the Hongkong Philharmonic Society, strikingly illustrated the high level of achievement rendered possible by co operation. For weeks past local musical folk, representative of the Navy, Army and civil life (which all too seldom meet on common ground), have joined together under the humanizing and uplifting in "Buence of music, and the kindly and skil. ful direction of Mr. S. Collett, gaining for themselves in so doing many benefits, intangible but not the less real, and finally affording many hundreds of their fellows hours of keen enjoyment.. What hotter way of using leisure hours during this brisk winter weather could be de sired?
