Having brought to my
notice on the 29th Ultimo that the sickness amongst
the Ceylon Rifles in addition to that in Her Majesty's 59th Regiment had attained such
height that the former corps had then 75
men in Hospital, and having requested
me to relieve the garrison of the duty of guarding the Jail,
