Ribbons have many uses and not one of the least of these is giving a broken sur- face to the brimas, and crowns of bats, and as the hat forms change with the chang- ing seasons the methods of applying these ribbons changes. One of the smart ways now current is to run the ribbon across the hat beginning at one edge of the brim, leading it to the crown, cross- ing over the centre of this crucial point. sad so down to the brim again.
