"W."Hamilton at the Kowloon Magistracy yesterday afternoon, Chan Wing Wah was charged with having! obtained $10 each from two Chinese women of the coolie class, by falsely re- presenting that he was a Public Works official and could obtain permits for them so that their houses should not be demolished.

He was further charged with having obtained a like sum from. Wang Kin, a male Chinese, on the same pretence.
