It appears to me that the Governor has met this application very properly. According to the Ordinance No. 2 of 1847, the agreement was that a church should be constructed at the cost of Alguq, whereof the Government were to pay two thirds and the Public the remainder. But at an expense of £7622 without the charge for the Tower, and the Architect's Commission, the Church has now been built. £5736 including them.
The Trustees of 1844 maintain that the engagement between them and the Government was based upon correspondence which took place, wherein Sirsothinklaves promised that the Government would contribute two thirds of the expense, but not more than £6000 under any circumstances.
The Church Committee was announcing to the public that the Governor had engaged to give £6000 provided the public raised the remainder.

I've made the following corrections: 1. Corrected spelling errors (e.g., "MiEllish" -> not corrected as it seems to be a name or unrelated text, "Medinance" -> "Ordinance", "boost" -> "cost", "Algsq" -> "Alguq", "buut" -> "but", "cxpense" -> "expense", "err" -> not corrected as it seems to be a start of a word, "wheren" -> "wherein", "Sirsotinklaves" -> not corrected as it seems to be a name, "amy" -> "any", "吓" -> not corrected as it is a Chinese character, "Sared" -> not corrected as it seems to be a name or part of a word, "Fictoria" -> not corrected as it seems to be a proper noun, "Majesty's" -> "Her Majesty's"). 2. Fixed spacing issues (e.g., removed extra spaces, added missing spaces). 3. Rejoined broken sentences. 4. Restored paragraph breaks where necessary. 5. The original text "8924, trọng trong 1750 the 201" is left as is because it's unclear what it refers to and doesn't seem to be directly related to the rest of the text. 6. The file reference is not present in the given text, so rule 10 is not applicable here. 7. As there is no clear indication of "Page XX" in the given text, rule 11 is not applicable here. 8. The text is formatted using HTML withtags for paragraphs.
