The Chairman in commenting on thed for to-day :-
the report and accounts, remarked on
of the receat addition to the grounds Cluh. Following an intimation, that the Government would look favourably on the Club's application for the piece of ground stretching from the entrance of the Kowloon Cricket Club to Cox's Path, the Committee asked Messrs. Edwards and Gow to apply on behalf of the Club. The acting Colonial Secretary, after sev eral interviews with Mr. Edwards, per- sonally inspected the ground and recom mended the application he granted. The Government also granted the narrow strip between the Club's old fence and the K.C.C. vinder track, which enabled them, to bring the lenee in alignment Iron Cox Path to King's Park Path. The best thanks of the Chuh were due to ir Edwards for interviewing the Colonial Secretary and for pressing forward the application in every possible way; also to Mr. Gow for his valuable services. They were also indebted to Mr. Black- more, a new member, who measured up the ground, drew up plans nad obtained a contract for putting the ground in order.
The profit on the working year was 8417.71, which was rather lower than last year. During the year 34 new members had joined the Cluk, which was very satis factory. There was still roem for a few more members but the time was coming when he thought they would have to take stops to limit the membership to
200 or 250.
Referring to the Club competitions, the Chairman said be was pleased to see that several new names had crept into the prize list during the year. He hoped this would continue. They required new blocal, inore especially this year, as they bad decided to enter two teams in the Lengue this season. The off season. com- petition for the Dewar" Cup was not being competed for with the usual zest. There had heen a number of new tennis players on the Courts, and he thought they would have a number of gonik play- era next season, but he could not help remarking that the Courts were an ex- pensive item to the Club, and it might be necessary, Inter on, to raise the sub- scription slightly, or obtain money by some other method.
The Chairman then inade reference to the deaths of several members during the
year.
He expressed thanks to the donors of Ile then reviewed last year's prizes. the accounts for the year. In the work increase in bar ing account there was purchases and bar expenses chiefly due to extras. Repuits and renewals had increased from $100 in 1992 to $1,271.70: mainly due to the erection of a wire fence rouml the new portion of the ground and expenditure on the new tennis courts. There had been a decrease of expenditure ou entertaining during the year, thanks to the economic methods of the Rar Com miltec He also detailed several other items of minor importance.
The adoption of the report and accounts was carried ananimously on the motion of Mr. Farrell, seconded by Mr. Miller.
On the motion of the Chairman it was agreed that an honorarium of $200 he paid to the Hon. Secretary and Hon. Treasurer for the past year.

Mr. R. Hall raised a mild protest at the existing state of lethargy in play- ing off competitions and thought some thing should be done to ensure that matches were played off on the dates fixed.
The Chairaan said he firmly believed in the dates being adhered to.. He would" do his best, to get the Committee to see that the rule was enforced.
A STRONG PROTEST. SEA-COİNG MEMBER RESIGNS.

Mr. Wylie questioned whether the word management" in the rule meant that a tea-going member was not entitled to vote. He doubted very much whether the mere easting of a vote at a general meeting could be, construed as coming within the meaning of the word.
Mr. Alexander: I consider your rule wants revising and all I want to say that I haw finished with the whole business.

The Chairman thought Me. Alexander very unjust in his remarks. That gentle man had often been to Committee meet- ing and knew. perfectly well that sea-going members, were not entitled to vote. Alexander had once been a full member and he asked him if he had ever used he vote when that privilege was accorded him.
