The most marked change is toward shorter skirts and slightly shorter waist- lines, but both of these generalizations must be qualified, for such style authori ties as Poiret are showing a great many ankle-length skirts, even atcong the morn ing frocks, and the very low waist-line is still to be seen in numbers of houses, B. is also the waistless frock. Puiret's collection show one particularly gorgeous Empire FOWL The waist line is placed just below the bust, the skirt is composed of three tiers of very fine-pleated silver cloth, while the little bodice with its decolletage is also of the silver cloth. The skirt is long enough to touch the instep, and the gown is aleoveless.
The circular skirts and tunics which prevailed last winter are still very much attractive in the thing, and are even mora the thin georgettes, silk roiles and chiffons of the summer than they wore in the mone solid velvets and broadcloths and wool velours at the winter mode. The disposi tion of the tullness of the circular skirt is largely a matter of taste with the designer, with this one exception the back of the skirt remains Hat.
