In the ease of another man who was found in possession of 100 rounds of ammunition on board the s.s. Manyo Maru, sentence of six month's hard labour was ordered by Mr. Orme. In this case it was stated by Inspector Blackman that the quarter-master sus- pected the defendant when he came on board. He followed him into the bold and later the matter was reported to the Chief Officer who, on searching a basket belonging to the defendant, found the
