On coming out witness saw their idea. It was to get out by a port doar at low water when the door would be under the level of the wharf. Junks or ships could go under the wharf and there take away the carga, The attempt was frustrated only by the fact that the door had rusted. The thieves had taken away one case and some piecea and several rolls. flad they been able to open the door, they would have got away with between $18,000 and $20,000 worth of the cloth which was bound for Kohe Three uses had been opened, four were broken, and about 500 yards of cloth were stolen.
Statements were made by five other men, each implicating the others.
Accused were remanded for a week.

The suggested new Articles of Association are similar to the old, subject to clerical alterations and to the following alterations of substance, viz:--
(1) The deletion from Article 71 of the words "and holding or representing by
proxy not less than one-tenth of the issued Capital."
(2) The alteration of the minimum number of Directors to four and of the
maximam number to seven,

(5) The addition of Articles enabling the appointment by the Directors of a Local Board of Advisory Committee in any place at a remuneration to be fixed by the Articles and the appointment by the Directors of Local General Managers, Secretaries or other Assistants, delegates or Attorneys at remuneration to be fixed by the Directors.
(6) The addition of an Article enabling the Company to have an Official Seal
and Local Registers in places outside the Colony.
