Before adverting to the diseases under which the Revd Mr. Stanton has laboured during the period of my professional attendance upon him, I am desirous of stating what I know concerning his health previous to my arrival in the Colony; as to this, I consider, may be traced the principal cause of his excessive debility and therefore greater liability to disease ever since. Mr. S. sailed from England on the 15th June 1845, and after a tedious and trying passage arrived in this Colony 21st Dec of the same year. He had previously resided at Macao, and in the years 1838 to ... he was absent to proceed to England. –
