too much impaired as

to render change of

air

to

imperatively necessary for its

restoration.

During the lengthened

period of Mr. Stanton's residence in this Colony, he has performed

the duties of his office to

the

entire Satisfaction of the Government and the Community

generally.

On the recommendation

of Mr. Stanton, and with the

Concurrence

of

the Right Reverend

the Bishop, the Reverend Edward Theophilus Russell Moncrieff, B.A., has been appointed to officiate during his absence, on half the Salary

of the appointment, viz: £350 per annum, and I trust Your Lordship will approve of this arrangement for the performance of the duties of Colonial

Chaplain.

Mr. Stanton has received

Salary up to the 24th Instant, at the rate of £700 per

annum,

as

attested by the

accompanying Certificate from

the

Colonial Treasurer.
