Those small machines were able to go 100 miles on a single gallon, of petrol, and rise to a height of 13,000ft. The conpetitions impressed his technical ad- visers with the idea that these light, cheap machines could be used for training pilots, and the Air Ministry were going to offer prizes for competitious for such two-seater small acroplanes.
