The aecilent was caused by a 20,000 K. W. Parsa turbine. It had been ordered bythe Council bus not then taken over. being still in the charge of Mr. Dounid son, Meers. Parson's representative, who was submitting it to a balance test toż eliminate slight vibration. It was a very larga turbine, and was erected on two large canereta blocks about it, from the ground. The thing was completely destroyed. cylinder had been broken to pieces and the rotor had been sheared in two places. Then, were pieces of the cylinder lying all over the building, and part of the rotor had been throwe towards the west into a switch board construction, while another portion was lying in the base ment. The burst had taken effect in three directions, east, west and north, but no thing santh Here there was another turbine which was not damaged. There] wer a large, pices of the turbine where: Donaldson was found lying. At the time of the accident witaces believed Mr. Donaldson was taking the speed of the machine, in which case he would have been standing immediately at the north end of the turbine.
