Sir,
I have the honor to enclose for transmission to England an indent for sundries for the Government Civil Hospital for six months commencing in November 1850 and ending in April 1851.
The supply which arrived here in August last and which was in reality intended for six months will, with the exception of a few articles, meet the requirements of the Service until the arrival of the supply now indented for.
The present requisition has been delayed because I have been anxious to avoid the inconvenience, loss by decay and outlay contingent upon the accumulation of a large stock.
The Honorable Major Caine, Colonial Secretary.
