Then on the Saturday night at the conclusion of the Interport match, the team is being entertained at Headquarter House by Major-General Sir John Fowler and Lady Fowler,

Another interesting swial function will be that arranged by the Hongkong Pało Club for Wednesday evening next. that evening the Shanghai players are to To the guests of the Hongkong pikerš at the Polo Club where dinner is to he served. At this dinner a number of the lending residents of the Colony will at- tamil. The entertainment is not to he eonfined to a sumptuous repast: there is to be some früllicing on the green after wards and people passing by this Pola „Ground at about & jam will probably sce a weird performance of a game of polo being played in the dark. standing feature of the -McMichael's play. He was well nucfunted and came up the field in fine style, but what struck the onlooker most was his tremendous hitting. M. Hickling alen showed very gent stick work and he was well mounted.: Of the other Shanghai players their jonies appeared to be a little out of band and it was obvious that they had not settled down to the new conditions of the aneh smaller ground in | comparison to the larger one at Shanghai. The Hoogkung“ players, have met with slight misfortune in that Mr. Boyd's very useful pony Hurry Jane " has gone slightly lame and will not be available for the match. The Club are making arrangements for a big crowd of spectators and special stands are being erected on the pavilion side of the palo ground. The renting accommodation in the Club itself is being reserved for mem- hors and their lady friends owing to the great demand for seats,
