Seu, Viceroy of Kwangtung and Kwangse, &c. &c. &c.
In reply to the Despatch which I received from the Noble Council dated the 21st of the 11th moon, relative to the head and hand of Governor Amaral, that they should be delivered in the waters of the Praia Grande, in front of the Governor's residence, I have to state that this is perfectly admissible, but the omission to fix a time for the delivery, which would cause delays in the Praia Grande, being very inconvenient, it is right therefore that the Noble Council should appoint as soon as possible, a day for their reception, and acquaint the Civil and Military Mandarins of Chin-chae beforehand, in order that according to notice they may proceed to make the
