that remittent and intermittent, or periodic forms of disease in this climate, attacking feeble constitutions during winter months, and often consummated (especially when the diathesis is favourable), in the enervating season of summer, in incurable dysentery.

Mr. Comclate's advanced years, the protracted nature of his indisposition, and his predisposition to dysentery, lead me to believe that he is a subject liable to the morbific progress consummation I have indicated; and this accounts, I recommend that fifteen months leave of absence shall be granted to him to enable him to proceed to Europe to recruit and invigorate his health
