In obedience to
your
wishes, I have
the honor to lay before you the following
statement, with respect to a claim made.
by the Contractor Acheong for work
performed by him on the Saiwan Road.
This Excellency the Governor having determined on widening
and improving and reconstructing a portion of the said Road, issued instructions to me to estimate the expense and order the execution of
a certain portion round the Sukunpur Bay. This was estimated at £75, and
contracted for and constructed by the said Acheong, who received payment. It being
then desirable to go on
with this improvement, I received orders from
the Gov Clovely, Esq.
