Office Copy of Certain letter written and sent to me at the dates aforesaid (in reply to my first herein before mentioned letter of the tenth of December) and that the signature "Mr. Caine" affixed to the same is of the proper name and handwriting of the Honorable Major William Caine, the Colonial Secretary of the said Colony of Hongkong
In faith and testimony whereof I the said Notary have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal of office at Victoria aforesaid the Twenty sixth Day of December in the Year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty nine.
