The ori ginal letters are dying within 2 days of each other, both intestate.

We Received intelligence of this event on the 18th by Messrs. 185 Gemmell and accompanied by a letter from Hay Hay a copy of

the Government's authorization that they were appointed joint administrators of the estate of the deceased parties to the Governor, in reply, were Authorized to sell our

goods.

We received instructions on the 27th of December 1846.

the proceeds of the sale of the goods Sold, the invoiced value then remaining being £15019.2-

We set out our instructions to them in January 1847 by letter to sell the remainder & close the transaction.

Subsequent letters have been sent to obtain any reply.

Our object in now intruding on your Lordship with this application is to request, that you will be pleased to direct what an enquiry as to the remainder of our credit may be made through the Governor of the Colony, or other means which may be thought proper.
