A recent Constantinople telegram says: No satisfaction has yet been obtained for the murder of a British soldier at Kaasim Basha, a month ago. On the other hand the Turks refuse to give up two British aviators unless they pay £10,000 for killing a Tarkish gendarme in a re cent incident in Gallipoli.

A GERMAN TRADE SHIP. According to information received by the Directors of the British World Trade Exhibition the German Government are attempting to steal a march over the British trade ship, which sails at the end of March on a tour of the Dominions and Colonisa. It is stated that Germany is very speedily improvising the ex-Kaiser's pleasure yacht as a trade ship, which will start in a few weeks on a visit to the. British Colonies. ta

BRITISH MAJOE'S WIFE ARRESTED 'AT CONSTANTINOPLE.

A Constantinople message on January 18 stated that the wife of a British Major who was setting out from her house re- cently was arrested by the police and accused of being a harlot. The police tried to take her to the police station for medical examination, but the lady clung to a tree. The police struck her to make her lossen her böld.
