The following telegrams are taken from Indian exchanges:- THE PRINCIPAL WIRELESS STATION IN GREAT BRITAIN. Londen, January 3:-Discussing the Post Office actemo whereby Swindon is to be made the principal wireless station in Great Britain at a cost of £230,000, the Daily Chronicle's parliamentary corres pondent describes the proposals as in adequate. He says expert opinion is DAIRY inclined to the belief that four stationa working, through cao central control are. required to provent the disadvantage of the Dominions, India and the Colonies, each having to await their turn to get through. Further, the expenditure, men tioned is regarded as insufficient ade quately to equip the station in respect of the height of the serials, the number, of maste, and the power required for transmission. The correspondent hopes that the scheme' will be rejected by Col. Amery's Committee, to whom the Govern ment have submitted it.

Notwithstanding the Lord Chief Jus- tice's opinion that the crime contained on redeeming feature, petitions in favour of Bywaters reprieve bora one million Bignatures. Public sympathy, particular- ly among women, was markedly in favour of the man, presumably on account of his youth, since no petition was presented in favour of Mrs. Thompson,
Apart from all consideration of the factors of the crime, it is noteworthy that opponents of capital punishment "freely subscribed to the appeal.
From the beginning it was obvious that both of the condensed people worki shëro the same fate, thus raiding the hopes of those who signed the petition that a re prieve would be granted in view of the opinion, widely held that the fact that Do
