The How- king started the game but the Durban were the first to attack and, to the sur- prise of many, Darlison put the latter team one up in the opening minute: The "Hawkins from the centre kick took up the attack and forced a corner and during the scramble in the goalmouth following the fling kick, King was penalised for jump- ing and the Hawkins awarded a penalty kick from which Barham made the scores one all. Shortly after, the Hawking had a lucky escape, for the goalkeeper in fieldding a shot sent it against the up- right and the ball" rebounded to play The Durban took the lead from a penalty awarded against Moss for pushing and Darlison made no mistake.
