I have the honour to report that, immediately upon resuming my duties, His Excellency the Governor desired my attendance, for the purpose of affording further explanation in the case of Capt. Parkins, "Regina vs. Capt. Parkins" for the illegal conveyance of "Coolies", which it would appear the Dependants paid to the recently acting Crown Solicitor during my absence in England.
Having put His Excellency in possession of the full particulars of the case, I was pleased to understand that he considered it a "grave case" against Capt. Lackins at the suit of Mol. Rahuby.
