is, to make a good across Government Land to connect his own property with one of Town - which the Streets
the Governor has allowed him to do. The next is, that he may be allowed to take, at the rate £3 5s an acre, a small strip of land, lying between his own property and a large open Drain, of which the ordinary upset price under the present Regulations would be £15:14:6, but which cannot without great expense be turned to any other use than that of ornamental plantation. The Governor recommends that Mr. Braine should be allowed either to take at that rate the strip of Land amounting to about 1/4 of an acre, or to take the whole lot of which it is a part at a Rent £7 25. The Surveyor General, however, states that the part of the lot not required by Mr Braine might possibly be wanted for improving the Town.
Mr Scott's application is almost exactly of the same kind, - viz, to rent at £5 a acre, for purposes of ornamental plantation, about 1 1⁄2 acres Land which is reported by the Surveyor General to be impracticable
