Application having been made to Parliament for a grant out of the Civil Government Revenue for the service of the year from 1 April 1849 to 31 March 1850 to the amount of £25,000 in all, including a sum for defraying the arrear of Expenditure of the previous year, and also a grant for the Expenses of the Department of Trade and of the Consulate in China for the same year to the amount of £26,042:10:—
